The Junior Board is an organization of young adults throughout Chicago committed to promoting the compassionate works of Catholic Charities and becoming leaders in the church

LinkedIn Group: Catholic Charities Junior Board The Junior Board is a dynamic group of young professionals throughout Chicago and its suburbs who are looking to give back - we offer opportunities for involvement through 3 co

mmittees: Faith Committee, Volunteer Committee, & Social Committee. We work to invest these up-and-coming young leaders in the compassionate mission of Catholic Charities, ensuring that succeeding generations understand, value, and take part in that mission. We currently have more than 400 dedicated members between the ages of 21 and 45, with varying levels of involvement and leadership responsibilities - but one thing in common: serving those less fortunate through the amazing programs of Catholic Charities.

We’re starting a book club and first up on our list is Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion by Father Gregory Boyle.

Tattoos on the Heart follows Father Greg as he explores the philosophy of radical kinship and mercy while working in Los Angeles amongst the crossfire of a community in crisis. Father Greg is the founder of Homeboy Industries-- a restorative justice job opportunity center that provides formerly incarcerated folks with the career development training, kinship and support to get back on their feet.

Our first book club meeting will be on Wednesday, January 27th at 6:00 PM via Zoom and we will meet every other week on Wednesdays as we move through the book.

All are welcome and we'd love to have you join in on the conversation, even if you can only join for a few meetings or pop in!

Sign up for the book club and to get the Zoom link for the meeting here:
