What a rewarding year at NKO! 🎉

Last week, we proudly celebrated our 5th grade scholars during their Rites of Passage Ceremony, recognizing their leadership, resilience, character, and growth as they prepare for middle school. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited for what lies ahead.

Starting this fall, Chicago Public Schools’ eighth graders will take a longer and different standardized test to help determine where they get into high school. Learn more from Chalkbeat.

What an incredible Shark Tank Week at NKO! 🦈✨

Our 5th grade scholars amazed us with their creativity, collaboration, and innovation during our annual Shark Tank Showcase. Scholars presented original projects centered around social-emotional learning and technology to a panel of community judges.

🏆 Top Projects Included:
⭐ “Dancing Robot”
⭐ “The Loveables”
⭐ “I-C-U Pet Drone”

We are so proud of all of our scholars for their confidence, teamwork, and hard work throughout this experience!
