What a night, Illinois!

Chair Lisa Hernandez was proud to welcome Governor Wes Moore to Chicago, alongside Governor JB Pritzker, Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin, Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton, Mayor Brandon Johnson, Vice Chair Rep. Maurice West, and Democrats from across Illinois.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an incredible night together and for everything you do for Democrats across our state.

Today, we remember those we lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families who carry their memory.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten and we take to heart their example of courage in the face of tragedy. A reminder that our greatest strength is how we care for one another and work together for a safer, more just future.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

As we mourn the souls stolen on that horrific day 25 years ago, we honor the extraordinary bravery of the first responders who rushed toward danger to save lives.

Instead of standing up to Trump—whose tariffs and war in Iran have driven up costs, who sent masked agents into our streets, and who has attacked our rights at every turn—Darren Bailey and Illinois Republicans are running straight into his arms.

While they celebrate him, Illinois Democrats are focused on the work that matters here at home. Up and down the ballot, we’re fighting to lower costs, protect health care, make housing and childcare more affordable, and invest in our communities.

Illinois Republicans have a pattern of voting no in Springfield, then taking credit back home.

And this month, we’re breaking it down. 🔎

House Minority Leader Tony McCombie, State Reps. Chris Miller and Tom Weber, and State Sen. Craig Wilcox all voted against Rebuild Illinois, which funded roads, bridges, and local infrastructure projects across the state.

But when those investments reached their districts? Suddenly, they were happy to take credit.
