Meet three members of our team:

Her journey: Grounded in the “Four C’s”: consistency, communication, community, and collaboration.

2️⃣ Victor V., Business Relations Specialist
First job: bakery clerk
His career has taken him from manufacturing and teaching to project management and, ultimately, workforce development.

3️⃣ Cynthia R., Program Relationship Manager
First job: hospital food service worker
She discovered workforce development during the pandemic and joined The Partnership in 2021, finding purpose in helping people connect to opportunities.

For The Partnership, workforce development is central to our mission of strengthening careers, businesses, and our regional economy. In the past program year, we’ve invested more than $20.2 million in training and helped thousands of career seekers prepare for in-demand roles.

This week, we're spotlighting GBG Commercial Insurance, an independent insurance brokerage and risk management firm. Under the leadership of Vice President Michael-Charles Hilson, a third-generation insurance professional, GBG supports businesses, nonprofits and public-sector organizations with the expertise they need to manage risk and grow with confidence. Today we’d like to recognize our employer-partner Heartland Human Care Services.

Heartland Human Care Services provides housing help, job training, and financial training.

Through our partnership, they’ve connected qualified candidates with meaningful career opportunities through more than 80 job openings, resulting in at least ten successful hires.

From job fairs and candidate pre-screening to referral services, Heartland continues to be an engaged and collaborative workforce partner. Positions filled have included Clinical Case Managers, Housing Resource Specialists, Program Supervisors, and more.

Help us welcome Malachy Zamacona, our new Grants and Contracts Analyst!

Malachy recently relocated to Chicago after spending over five years as Program Director of the American Indian OIC in Minneapolis, MN.

Outside of work, Malachy enjoys biking, playing guitar, and traveling. To date, he’s visited nearly 30 countries and 34 U.S. states. If you’re up for some pick up sports or a match of chess, he’s your guy.
