We foster community development and preserve affordable and diverse housing for Chicago! NCDC strives to meet the housing counseling demands of our turbulent economy. We have met the demand of struggling homeowners by increasing capacity to provide more foreclosure prevention counseling. However, we firmly believe that the best foreclosure prevention tool is a quality pre-purchase counseling progr

am that encourages our clients to make sustainable homeownership decisions from the get-go. We provide homeownership counseling in the following areas:

* One-on-one Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

* Pre-purchase First Time Homebuyer Training

* Pre-purchase Condominium Training

* One-on-one Mortgage Readiness Assessment

* Chicago Community Land Trust Training

* Anti-Predatory Lending Database file review


NCDC has carved out a niche market in providing Employer Assisted Housing consulting and counseling services. Through partnerships with regional employers we work to counsel participating employees seeking to purchase homes, and guide them through the home purchase process to closing. We currently provide EAH services for the Chicago Board of Education, City Colleges of Chicago, and Loyola University. Through our wide range of services we serve clients of all types of racial and income backgrounds. We work with clients in all 50 wards of the city as well as suburban regions. We continue to maintain unique partnerships with public, private, and other non-profit agencies to expand our reach and further our mission.

Home Repair and Accessibility Program (HRAP) Round 2
The Home Repair and Accessibility Program (HRAP) is designed to assist low- and very low-income homeowners by providing funds for vital health and safety repairs and accessibility improvements. Through these activities, the program aims to preserve existing affordable housing stock, provide investment in communities, improve the health and well-being of occupants, and help low-income and disabled or mobility-impaired individuals remain in their homes.
Homeowners Looking for Assistance with Repairs: Homeowners apply for the program directly through Northside Community Development Corporation (NCDC) and get on the waitlist. Please note that, unfortunately, demand for this program far exceeds available funding. In most cases, we will have substantial waitlists, and getting on a waitlist in no way guarantees that you will receive assistance. Additionally, the NCDC will have to review your documentation to verify that you qualify for the program. Household income, property value limits, and other eligibility criteria apply.
