Connor is headed off to U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May.

Connor is one of the few recruits who qualifies for the USCG’s Aviation Survival Technician specialist rating! In addition to undergoing the rigors of basic training with his Company, he will undergo additional fitness testing at Cape May in order to join the Coast Guard’s most elite and prestigious search and rescue rating.

LTJG Katya “Katie” L. Armbrecht, the Commanding Officer of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Terrapin (WPB 87366) located in Seattle WA, administered the Oath of Enlistment to DEPOT Recruit, Heather Bucur.

Heather enlisted into the Coast Guard after receiving a conditional release from the Illinois National Guard. She will be joining her husband, SN Andrew Bucur, in Seattle upon graduating from DEPOT training.

Heather was offered a 15k college credit bonus and was also authorized to maintain her current rank at pay grade E-4. She will lateral into the CG as a Health Service Technician (HS3) with assignment to Base Seattle.
