Nuestro ministerio tiene tres partes:

1. Proveemos de hospitalidad y un ambiente curativo a mujeres y niños desplazados.

2. Trabajamos juntos con nuestros vecinos para hacer más segura nuestra comunidad.

3. Realizamos actividades educativas y de acciones sociales con respeto a asuntos de la justicia social. La Casa:

Mientras se nos dé mucho orgullo que nuestra comunidad tiene casi 25 años, nu

estra casa nos da humilidad por su historia impresionante de todo un siglo. Friales Franciscanos solían decir casa a nuestro edificio, pero cuando su iglesia, se llamaba San Agustín, cerró, la propiedad se ofreció generosamente a los cinco fundadores de Su Casa. Desde entonces, en la tradición del Trabajador Católico, trabajadores y huéspedes han vivido, comido, dado a luz, llorado, limpiado, y reído en ésta casa. Aunque la misión empezó como un hospedaja para refugiados de la guerra civil de Centroamérica, hoy en día hospedamos principalmente familias de hispanoparlantes que no tienen hogares y huyen violéncia doméstica. Alojamos una media de cinco familias a una vez, ofreciendo un máximo de un año de estadía para todos. Los trabajadores que viven en Su Casa llevan energía nueva a la casa, ultimamente trabajando para crear un ambiente seguro y acogedor para nuestros huéspedes y vecinos.

Happy May Day! On this day in 1933 Dorothy Day distributed the first copies of the Catholic Worker newspaper at a mass labor rally in Union Square, NY with the words:
"For those who are sitting on park benches in the warm spring sunlight.
For those who are huddling in shelters trying to escape the rain.
For those who are walking the streets in the all but futile search for work.
For those who think that there is no hope for the future, no recognition of their plight - this little paper is addressed."
