Compassionate Care Network (CCN)

Compassionate Care Network (CCN) We are a 501c grassroots non-profit dedicated to promoting healthcare access, awareness and advocacy for America's underserved since 2004.

Our mission at CCN is to promote health awareness and provide access to affordable healthcare to underserved communities. We are a grassroots, non-profit organization committed to making America healthier. Our work comprises of three main categories – Healthcare Access, Awareness and Advocacy. ACCESS

Since 2004, CCN's unique network model has allowed individuals and families who are uninsured to

access affordable medical care through a network of over 200 providers who have volunteered to see patients at markedly reduced cost. By enrolling in the CCN Network, patients are able to access a provider in their own neigborhood, along with multiple labs, imaging centers and other allied health agencies that have contracted with CCN to provide reduced cost services. This is an innovative alternative to free-standing health clinics, in that it aims to provide a medical home that is easily accessible both geographically and financially, which can lead to continuity of care. Since the passing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010, we have also become a national leader in educating and enrolling eligible Americans into the newly available health insurance plans. With a team of multilingual navigators, CCN again used its grass root connections to educate and enroll several thousand individuals into insurance plans in the Chicagoland area. For recognition of its grassroots efforts, CCN was invited as an honoree to the White House ACA Reception in 2014. AWARENESS

Central to our mission is promoting health awareness and education as a means of prevention. To this end, our teams of volunteers conduct weekly health screenings and health awareness programs. Basing our programs in local schools, community centers and faith institutions, we collaborate with and serve diverse populations. Our screening programs are coupled with educational talks on site, radio programs and online blogs, in an effort to reach people through multiple mediums. ADVOCACY

We also work closely with both state and federal agencies to advocate for health related issues. In the past we have partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of the Surgeon General, the White House and several national organizations on topics ranging from public health safety, legislation for healthcare programs, mental health resources and gun control.

Thursday, October 30, at 6 pm CT, join Compassionate Care Network (CCN) and Medicare Expert Masood Bijapuri (Broker Sales Manager at HealthSpring) for an educational webinar on Medicare!

Medicare is a federal health insurance program in the United States for people age 65 or older and younger people with disabilities, including those with end-stage renal disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease). It is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Medicare is divided into four Parts: A, B, C, and D. Part A covers hospital, skilled nursing, and hospice services. Part B covers outpatient services. Part D covers self-administered prescription drugs. Part C is an alternative that allows patients to choose private plans with different benefit structures that provide the same services as Parts A and B, usually with additional benefits.

Preventing the spread of Flu and Covid-19 is important, especially for our seniors and vulnerable community members.

Compassionate Care Network has organized a series of free flu vaccinations in partnership with our good friends at MCC, MEC, ICCD, BYNC, Osco and Walgreens.

The 2025–2026 flu season is expected to be active, with flu activity rising as early as October and peaking between December and February.

Last season, the United States saw an alarming flu impact: at least 47 million illnesses, 610,000 hospitalizations, and 26,000 deaths—including hundreds of children. Flu shots can significantly reduce your risk of getting sick, being hospitalized, or worse, and even lower complications from heart attacks and strokes.

Everyone aged 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine each year—especially children, seniors, pregnant people, and those with chronic conditions. It takes about two weeks to build protection, so get vaccinated early to stay one step ahead of the flu.

Join CCN at MEC on September 19 and ICCD on October 4—and stay tuned for more upcoming events at other venues! Together we can keep our community healthy.
