Echelon is a group of enthusiastic young professionals who are driven by “Doing The Most Good” for those most in need”. Its message is based on the Bible.

Echelon seeks to mobilize the next generation for The Salvation Army by providing opportunities for young adults to engage with the organization through networking, donations and fundraising, and service and volunteering. The Salvation Army pursues its mission 365 days a year and serves the entire community through a number of services, so there are ample opportunities to address needs in the comm

Our organization is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division is the administrative unit which provides services to people in need in Greater Chicago, Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. The Salvation Army is currently officially at work in 131 countries worldwide. It is a Christian organization and part of the universal Christian Church. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Last week, we hosted our annual networking event!

It was great to connect with potential new members while spending the evening networking, building new relationships, and sharing more about how Echelon supports The Salvation Army’s mission through service and leadership.

A special thank you to Philip Maziarz, Chicago Advisory Board member of The Salvation Army, for hosting us and sharing his story about how he became involved with The Army. We’d also like to thank Captain Jessica Martinez, Associate Chicago Area Commander, and Alex Uzarowicz, Regional Senior Director of Development, for sharing more about The Salvation Army’s impact in the community and for joining us.

Echelon is now on summer break, but mark your calendars for our BBQ Volleyball Kickback on Saturday, September 12!

Representing industries including law, executive search, finance, professional sports, construction management, graphic design, data analytics, and nonprofit leadership, our board members bring diverse expertise and a shared commitment to service.

Together, they support The Salvation Army's mission through fundraising, volunteer engagement, community outreach, and leadership development throughout Chicagoland while helping to mobilize the next generation of leaders.

We're grateful for the time, talent, and dedication these leaders bring to Echelon and excited for what's ahead.

Back in November, Echelon MKE and our team came together at Wonderland Camp for a service day — and yesterday, we were excited to return and continue the work.

We spent the day removing invasive species to support a healthier ecosystem and prepare the camp for its upcoming season, building on the progress we made in November. The area we worked in this time wasn’t accessible before our initial efforts, making it especially rewarding to see the space restored and wildlife beginning to return.

Beyond the work itself, it was great to reconnect with the Milwaukee chapter and continue strengthening our shared commitment to service.
