Hi Heartland Alliance supporters, we wanted to let you all know about a really neat event coming up soon.

Filter Space will host an art exhibit to celebrate the culmination of the 2018 Diane Dammeyer Fellowship, a partnership between Heartland Alliance and Columbia College that supports a socially engaged photographer to develop a new body of work through connecting with Heartland participants.

Our volunteer chair rounded up a team of volunteers to help with the US Census Point-In-Time count of the homeless. This work is critical to help paint an accurate picture of how many people living in America experience homelessness and inform public policy and secure federal funding for non-profits. Our team also handed out and donated 100 care packages, including basic needs like clothing, hygiene products, and resource guides.

Want to help? You can start here, by reading Heartland Alliance's fact sheet on the problem of homelessness in America and why it matters:https://www.heartlandalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Homelessness-Info-Sheet-5-18.pdf

Federally Qualified Health Centers, the only healthcare resource for millions of vulnerable Illinoisans, are in danger of losing federal funding. There's still time to act.

If you have 2 minutes, call your members of Congress today at 202-224-3121 and demand that they extend funding of health centers in the year-end funding bill they are currently negotiating!
