CUFAC was founded in October 2016 as a child organization of Chicago Progress, initially weighing in at meetings of the Cook County Board of Commissioners for enactment of an ironclad amendment to the county amusement tax ordinance that recognizes DJ;'ing as a fine art worthy of certain tax breaks and that provides substantial amusement tax relief for small- and medium-audience DJ'ed events.
