Join us for the opening reception of Water's Edge by Helen Dannelly this weekend at the Leslie Wolfe Gallery!

On Sunday, May 17 from 2-4 PM, the Leslie Wolfe Gallery will host the opening reception of Water's Edge, an exhibition of paintings & sculptures by Helen Dannelly.

"I am interested in metamorphosis as a natural phenomenon as well as an interpersonal phenomenon. This interest is reflected in my work, whether in my paintings or abstract organic sculpture. My work is inspired by the natural world: light, shadow, color, plant life, sea life, water, earth, pods, seeds, cocoons, coral, sea anemones. The water lily paintings were inspired by my first trip to Claude Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny, France. I am a member of the Plein Air Painters Chicago and enjoy painting landscapes of my native California coast as well as Ireland, the country of my heritage." - Helen Dannelly

Join us for a day of Meditation with instructor David Perrin on Sunday, May 17 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

As we navigate turbulent times, and Spring unfolds into Summer, you're invited into this retreat space of meditation, ecological attunement, rest & renewal, and connecting to creativity. Refreshing our purpose and resilience, at a time of great turmoil, is a key factor in moving forward with compassion. Genuine presence does not need to be rehearsed, meaning there's no prerequisite of previous experience necessary. Only openness, curiosity, listening and you just as you are.

Gallery Feature: Jazz Visions by Ken Klopack

See Jazz Visions at the Leslie Wolfe Gallery through May 7.

β€œI’ve created a series of works that are visual inventions of compositions by jazz artists such as Nat King Cole, Dave Brubeck, Duke Ellington, Stan Getz and others. Taking a page out of Wassily Kandinsky’s artworks about music, I’ve interpreted the music of these legendary artists in a personal way. The colors, shapes and line that dominate my paintings convey the sounds that I hear in their performances and the visual puzzle on canvas entices the observer to be free to decipher.” - Ken Klopack ( )

🎀 Help Shape How OTTA Communicates β€” We Want to Hear from You!

The OTTA Communications Committee is conducting a review of how the association communicates with members β€” what's working, what's not, and how we can do better.

As part of this effort, we're looking to have short, informal conversations (15–20 minutes) with members about their experience. No preparation needed β€” just an honest perspective on how you stay informed about what's happening in the Triangle.

We'd like to talk with a mix of long-time members, newer members, committee volunteers, and anyone in between. If you have thoughts about how OTTA keeps you informed (or doesn't), you're exactly who we want to hear from. Your input will directly shape the recommendations brought to the board.

Join us at the Old Town Triangle Center for a play with Violet Surprise Theatre! See The Revolutionists by playwright Lauren Gunderson on Sunday, May 17th at 6:00 PM.

Doors open at 5:30 PM | Show begins 6:00 PM

See below for a summary of the show:

The Revolutionists will not be televised. It will be dramatized – by Violet Surprise Theatre, whose mission is to vibrantly validate the voices of women. Written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Iris Sowlat, The Revolutionists is a hysterical and historical (or, more accurately, herstorical) play that invites audiences to experience the French Revolution from a female perspective. So don't pardon our French. Pardon our Frenchwomen and their trΓ¨s merciless treatment during the Reign of Terror.

Be advised: This show contains strong language.
