Asian American Action Fund of Greater Chicago State Democrat PAC elect Asian Americans and non-AAPI with high AAPI district. Engage AAPIs in electoral politics & grassroots efforts on AAPI issues.

It is AAAF-GC’s goal to elect Asian American candidates for state and local positions in the Greater Chicago area, including non-Asian Americans committed to Asian American issues and serving constituencies with a fairly large number of Asian American in their respective districts. In Illinois, Asian Americans comprise approximately six percent of the total population. Although there have been Asi

an Americans in elected office on the local level in several cities surrounding the Chicago, the first Asian American to the Chicago office at Chicago City Council was elected in 2011. However, Illinois still has no Asian American elected officials at the State or County level of government. It is AAAFGC’s goal to change this in the years ahead, and has low participation at all levels of political process in the context of government, policy, campaigns, and more.
