✊ We hope everyone is enjoying some well-deserved rest on this Labor Day. This holiday serves a reminder that nothing we value was handed to us. It was organized, demanded, and won by activists in the labor union movement — starting right here in Chicago.

✊We have things like the 8-hour workday, the weekend, unemployment insurance, workplace protections, Social Security and Medicare because of ordinary people and courageous elected officials standing together and demanding that our government works for working people, not just big business or the wealthy and well-connected few.

🗳️Today, those hard-won gains are under attack and the lessons of history are clear: power concedes nothing without a demand. That’s why the 2026 midterms are so important. The outcome in November will determine who has the power to protect workers, strengthen democracy, defend voting rights, expand access to healthcare, and make sure government works for all of us.

🌊Take a moment today to honor the people who organized before us — and by waking up tomorrow and doing what they did: organize, build solidarity, and show up. This November, we have work to do. And we will do it together — we win when we do the work. Join us!

‼📢 For too long our neighbors have faced detentions, family separations, harassment, and intimidation at the hands of immigration and Customs Enforcement. It’s time to come together and take collective action.

Indivisible Chicago is proud to join Organizacion PASO and other community partners in a mobilization on Saturday, September 12 in Melrose Park. This action is an opportunity for community members, organizations, and leaders across the West Suburbs to stand united and affirm that our communities deserve safety, dignity, and respect.

💥Today marks 60 days until the Midterm Election. The time is NOW or NEVER — starting today, everything you do along the way to November 3 is important and will determine the future of our country and the survival of our fragile democracy.

🗳️Last weekend, our wonderful canvassing volunteers hit the doors in Benton Harbor, Michigan with Swing Left (and MS NOW’s Chris Jansing!) for Abdul El-Sayed and Sean McCann. Their races are critical to take back our Senate and House majorities, and YOU can help by signing up to volunteer. Join us to canvass or poll watch in Michigan, or volunteer from home by phone banking, texting or postcards.

Now, we finally have a chance to come together and build a massive blue wave at the polls in November. For results that are too big to rig, we also need a massive number of volunteers. That means you!

The 2026 Midterm Election is coming up fast, and voting in our neighboring swing states begins in just THREE WEEKS. There’s no time to wait. The work to win starts NOW.

Chicago is uniquely positioned to make an impact in critical battlegrounds like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. What happens in these states could help determine control of Congress and state governments, with consequences that reach far beyond 2026.
