🌟 Big News for L2L 🌟

I’m thrilled to announce that Lace To Liberation has been awarded not just one, but TWO small general operating grants! This support is crucial—it’s what allows us to keep our doors open and stay committed to our mission every day. I’m beyond grateful to have received these grants, and this recognition fuels my passion even more.

But I have to be honest: this journey has been anything but easy. There are days I feel genuinely discouraged, like there are people in this city who would rather see me fail than succeed. It often feels like I’m pushing against an endless tide of gatekeepers and barriers, facing disingenuous support or even outright resistance. It’s hard to keep going when it feels like my own community doesn’t want to see us win.

Yet, despite it all, I stand firm on my mission. Lace 2 Liberation was built on my own lived experience, and that drives me to continue fighting for those who need us. I’m here to make real change, and if that means taking Lace 2 Liberation beyond Chicago and making it a national movement, I’m ready.

A huge thank you to the at the Emergent Fund and ViiV Healthcare Positive Action Community Grants for believing in us and supporting our cause. Your investment in our general operations allows us to keep pushing forward, regardless of the obstacles. With your support, we’re one step closer to creating a safer, more empowered future for trans and LGBTQIA+ communities.
