Men’s Mental Health Webinar

The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Institute is hosting a Men’s Mental Health Webinar on May 28th, 2026, at 6 p.m. focused on “Breaking the Silence: Mental Health Stigma in Families.”

This open and honest conversation will cover understanding men’s mental health, navigating stress and emotional well being, and building healthy coping strategies and support systems. Hosted by Dr. Damien Thomas of Resilience Counseling & Recovery Center, LLC, the webinar is designed to encourage men to prioritize their mental health and strengthen their families and communities.

Good Morning💚💚💚 As an IOP Therapist, yesterday's CBT/DBT group focused on “Catch It, Check It, Change It” — helping patients identify negative thoughts, examine the evidence behind them, and learn how to shift their perspective in healthier ways.

The group was highly engaged, and patients shared meaningful insight into how thoughts influence feelings and behaviors. It was rewarding to watch them challenge distorted thinking patterns, practice emotional regulation skills, and support one another through open discussion. Healing starts with awareness, and today they truly showed up for themselves. 💚

As an IOP Therapist working with the psychiatric population, today’s group focused on stress .... how it makes us feel, how the body responds, and healthy coping skills through CBT & DBT. Patients explored the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while showing honesty, insight, and effort throughout the discussion. Healing starts with awareness and the willingness to grow. 💚💜
