C'est déjà fini / It's already over... 🇫🇷🇨🇭🇧🇪
With La Francophonie coming to and end, what better way to finish the celebrations than with a delicious dessert? A Belgian, French, and Swiss chocolate from the Barry Callebaut Group, the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products. 🍫
We were once again hosted by the Alliance Française de Chicago, who welcomed over 150 guests (😱) to the second edition of our chocolate evening. New this year were our Belgian colleagues from Wallonia-Brussels International and from the Honorary Consulate of Belgium, as well as Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education.
During the presentation, Cédric Bono, the group's CFO, presented Barry Callebaut in numbers, but also its commitment to sustainability and innovation. Did you know that BC is dedicated to making sustainable chocolate the norm? They are also the undisputed leader in chocolate and cocoa innovation, offering cutting-edge solutions that support and strengthen the business of their industrial and Gourmets customers. ♻️💡
After this fascinating presentation, Chef Martin Diez, Director of the Callebaut Chocolate Academy, showed us how to taste chocolate using the senses of touch, hearing, sight, smell, and taste.
To ensure everyone was paying attention, our Belgian colleagues hosted a short quiz at the end, with three winners receiving gifts from Wallonia-Brussels International, Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education, and Barry Callebaut Group. 🏅
We concluded the evening with a reception featuring chocolates, individually paired with Belgian beers or Swiss wines from the Romandie. 🍺🍷
