A little bit happening every day. Today's project was putting in some metal edging for w**d prevention in the future. We are battling a lot of bindw**d as we work to establish our native prairie areas.

Massive updates in the garden!

Christy Webber donated some great stones for climbing and sitting. We are in the middle of constructing a mud kichen, tree house, and sand pit.

Just a note, the play garden is a public space, open to everyone. Humboldt Park Montessori uses the space during the day, and outside of school hours we would love to have visitors! Come check out all that is happening.

Fence construction round two. We are so grateful for the collaboration the city has offered us in the development of this play garden. The project requires a temporary fence rather than a permanent, cemented one, so we had to get creative.

Our first attempt kept blowing down in the wind! Not so great for safety....so....the next version utilized steel t-posts used for fencing in livestock. We are pounding the 2 1/2 feet into the ground.

We also tested metal wire fencing and that has successfully withstood the winds. While we wait the delivery of the rest of the wire fencing, we've spent hours this weekend getting more posts in and fixing the blown down plastic fencing. Looking much better!

It doesn't take much for kids' imaginations to take flight. The children from Humboldt Park Montessori have been initiating the trees with hours of climbing. We are excited to have more folks enjoy this space with us as it develops!
