Save the Date 9.11! Black women are facing health crises and it’s time to put the light on the matter and process how we move forward! The date is intentional and all are welcome to participate in this community forum that centers us in a space to shape a new future because our lives depend on it. Details are forthcoming soon! Do you know a BIPOC woman who has died during childbirth, after, suffered from Post Partum Depression? Or are you a woman who was detained in a carceral institution and did not receive adequate care? Or have you complained of symptoms only not to be heard?

About three months ago we started a conversation about the maternal, mental and physical health of Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color with Black at center because we are dying during childbirth, but more importantly dying more afterwards. On 9/11 we are going to finish the conversation together.

SAVE THE DATE 9 11,
especially if you are a woman, you have a daughter, daughter in love, granddaughter or niece in their child bearing years or in menopause. This one is for you! Details coming soon.

The mental and emotional toll on women of child bearing age is real and our younger generations are afraid of dying for giving life, so they are opting out. The healthcare system hasn’t been kind to us since the period of enslavement and beyond with countless atrocities committed against Black, Indigenous and Latina women.

Karrie Jones, Mercedes Wells, Serena Williams, Tewana Passmore, Cherise Doyley and countless women have been treated less than and suffered harms because of their gender and their race/ethnicity.

Halle Berry was diagnosed with Herpes when in actuality she was going through menopause and likely misdiagnosed for her type of diabetes condition for over 20 years.

You will definitely want to be in this space on 9/11!

So we decided to curate a space where we will discuss the many issues we are facing from our overall health to maternal health to menopausal symptoms and our mental health. Every time a Black woman dies a generation dies with her!
