If you’re new to UIC, you might hear people talking about CURA and wonder what it is.
CURA = Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Award
CURA helps eligible UIC undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need get paid to work on research with a faculty mentor. 💵

And “research” might be much bigger than you think. It can happen in a lab, library, community organization, archive, studio, computer, clinic, or out in the field.
You don’t have to already know how to be a researcher. Undergraduate research is a chance to learn, explore what interests you, build new skills, and work alongside people asking questions that matter.
