Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual Clean Up Day. Residents came together to responsibly dispose of unwanted items and help keep our community clean and beautiful.

We appreciate the support from Marian Catholic High School for allowing the use of their campus for Clean Up Day. Thank you to the Bloom High School staff, Republic Disposal Services and DeJunk.It for sponsoring the event, and over 60 student volunteers who joined in to clean up. Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to the event. Your community pride and support make this a great success!

Residents who would like to participate and host a garage sale must apply for a garage sale permit through the Clerk’s Office and display the permit during the event. Permit fees will be waived for registered participants.

Join us for the City of Chicago Heights Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Chicago Heights residents can drop off items free of charge at Marian Catholic High School Parking Lot 1, located at 378 West Joe Orr Road, Chicago Heights, IL.

Accepted items include:
-TVs and electronics
-Appliances and scrap metal
-Bundled brush, yard waste, and clean recyclables
-General junk, carpet, furniture, and tires

The City of Chicago Heights will be implementing additional modules to the City’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to enhance operations and services.

As part of this process, City Hall will close at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and will remain closed on Friday, May 1, 2026. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 8:30 AM.
