Stay safe this Labor Day weekend! 🌅

As we head out to lakes and reservoirs, remember to wear a life jacket, boat responsibly, and watch for harmful cyanobacterial blooms (HCBs).

If you are exposed to a potential bloom, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, the Wyoming Department of Health, and the Wyoming Livestock Board recommend:

🚫 Do not swim in or come into contact with green water, floating scums or clumps.
🚫 Do not ingest water from a bloom; boiling, filters, and other treatments will not make the water safe.
🎣 Rinse fish with clean water and eat only the fillet portion.
💧 Avoid water spray from a bloom.
🐾 Do not allow pets or livestock to drink water, eat bloom material, or lick their fur after contact.

If contact occurs, rinse with clean water immediately and contact a doctor or veterinarian if symptoms develop.

Learn more, view the live advisory map, or report a suspected bloom at WyoHCBS.org.

are we this month? 🤔🥾

We’re continuing our trek across Wyoming to see who really knows their landscapes! Who can pinpoint our exact location?

Tucked along rugged red sandstone bluffs, this reservoir was created in 1927 and established as a recreation site in the late 1930s thanks to the Civilian Conservation Corps. Today, this landmark features some of the finest Depression-era stonework in the Rocky Mountain region, including hand-built bridges, winding trails, and the iconic "Castle." It remains a beautifully preserved haven for hikers, bikers, campers, and history lovers alike.

Know where we are? Drop your guess in the comments! 👇

Thank you to our rangers on and every day! We honor the dedicated professionals who protect parks and people around the globe and to remember those who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

Standing proudly on the “thin green line,” our diverse team of rangers wear many hats. They serve as first responders, guardians of our natural resources, and friendly guides who help visitors enjoy our sites safely.

We also recognize our interpretive rangers, whose storytelling and educational programs inspire the next generation of stewards–serving as another vital form of protection for the resources that make Wyoming so special.
