Tomorrow there is a big effort to call senators and urge them to vote for blocking the sale of bombs and d9 bulldozers to Israel. I wrote a script
Hello, I am calling to urge Senator Barrasso or Lumis to vote YES on S.J.Res. 32 and S.J.Res. 138 to block the sale of 1,000-pound bombs and Caterpillar D9 bulldozers to Israel.
Remember March 16th was the 23rd anniversary of the murder of American Rachel Corrie by an Israeli soldier in a Caterpillar Bulldozer in Ramallah which the IDF claimed was an accident. Also killed in Ramallah was 14 year old American Orwa Hammad in 2014. Since 2003, 14 Americans have been killed by Israel including the high-profile case of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in 2022. Less known in 2022 was Israel's murder of Omar Assad, a 78 year old Palestinian American man who was stopped at a surprise checkpoint, dragged out of his car, blindfolded, gagged, and left zip-tied at a nearby Construction site in the freezing cold. Jacob Flickinger in 2024 with the humanitarian organization World Central Kitchen was killed in an airstrike. Turkish-American and recent University of Washington graduate Aysenur Ezgi Eygi (Ay-shinor Eh-zeggie Eh-yeggie) in 2024 was killed by an Israeli sniper shooting her in the head- which Israel also claimed was an accident. In 2025 Palestinian-American Sayfollah Musallet, an ice cream shop owner born and raised in Florida, was beaten to death by Israeli settlers in the West Bank in July. US Ambassador Mike Huckabee urged an investigation of his murder by early 2026, and no prosecution is taking place. In February, Israeli settlers in the West Bank shot and killed Philadelphia-born Palestinian American Nasrallah Abu Siyam, he was 19 years old and the 9th US citizen killed in the West Bank by Israeli settlers or soldiers. The pattern is clear- when Israel kills, those responsible face no consequences, and everything is either an "accident" or "pending investigation." It is time the US stopped giving Israel the same weapons used to kill Rachel Corrie and Jacob Flickinger. American weapons shouldn't be used to kill Americans. If Israelis won't face consequences from their own government for murdering US citizens, they should face consequences from our representatives. This is the bare minimum of justice. The Senator cannot bring back all those lost American lives, but they can vote YES to keep more lives from needlessly being lost- whether Palestinian, American, or Palestinian-American. Thank you.
