Today, on Dr. Martin Luther King day, I hope we will all take a moment to reflect on his life. He emphasized equality and individual rights. He dreamed of a day when people would be judged on the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. Yet in America today - over 50 years later - skin color and other ways to enhance identity politics are at the forefront of discourse and policy.

Examining the life and philosophy of Dr. King might give us some insight about how to treat those with whom we disagree. It might teach us about respect and the common dignity of every human being. It might teach us about godly principles such as loving our neighbors.

For these and other principals, Dr. King was willing to fight and die for. But he fought peacefully and with determination. We too must fight for our rights as defined by God and our constitution. God bless.
