Yes! And how about _starting_ those credentials in high school? I say double yes!

We asked our board members why it's important that Washington kids fill the 740,000 job openings coming to our state over the next five years. Here's what Puget Sound Energy President & CEO Kimberly Harris had to say.

I agree with all of this!

From one campaign to another! I've joined the Chewelah Citizens for Kids effort to ensure the passage of the absolutely essential Maintenance and Operations (M &O) Levy, and the special 3-year Capital Levy to be featured on the February ballot! I know my Chewelah fans care about the future of the Chewelah SD. "Like" the Chewelah Citizens for Kids page and stay up-to-date!

I've offered my concession (read exerpts below). Thanks to all my supporters!

Dear Loretta,

I offer my congratulations to you and my concession of our Chewelah School Board race. Well done! Everything I have observed about you shows that you are a thoughtful, intellegent public servant with a valuable public school perspective, both as a parent and as an employee. In addition, Chewelah voters had a choice. In any election, having a choice is better than not having a choice, and for that, we are both to be congratulated!

I will continue to work to support quality education initiatives within Chewelah School District and our region, as I am able. I look forward to supporting the work of the capital levy campaign in the coming months. I encourage you and all the members of the Chewelah School Board to strive to be ever more educated and active as policy leaders, not just within the District, but within the region and our state, and I recommend active involvement in the Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA).

Sincerely,
Lori Larsen

49Degrees North Season Pass Processing today at Providence Family Medicine Chewelah! Update: I won't make it there until probably 4:15-4:30, but will be happy to answer questions about my candidacy at that time.

Hoping for a favorable Supreme Court Decision soon!

Hoping for a favorable Supreme Court Decision soon!

With more state budget-cutting in the offing, Washington Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn urges the state Supreme Court to rule soon in the case of McCleary v. Washington. Some clarity on the state's education obligations are needed before the Legislature convenes.

I voted! Have you?
