Please join us in congratulating Officer Ethan Bissonnette.

Officer Bissonnette was sworn in as a Cheviot Police Officer at the City Council meeting on February 17, 2026, and graduated from the Butler Tech Police Academy on March 12, 2026.

After months of hard work and dedication at the police academy, Officer Bissonnette has already jumped right into the job and started his Field Training Officer (FTO) program.

We’re excited to have him on the team and look forward to him serving the Cheviot community.

Driver Charged After Vehicle Crashes into Residence

At approximately 12:59 a.m. on February 20, 2026, Cheviot Police and Fire Departments responded to the 3900 block of Washington Avenue for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a residence.

Responders located a white Ford Transit Van that had struck and caused significant damage to the front of the home. The driver, identified as Jerome Zurlinden (71), was transported to the hospital for evaluation by the Cheviot Fire Department.

One occupant was inside the residence at the time of the crash and was not injured.

Following the investigation, Jerome Zurlinden, was cited for Operating a Vehicle While Impaired and Failure to Maintain Reasonable Control.

The Cheviot Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual shown in the attached video and photos. This person is a suspect in multiple recent business break-ins in the City of Cheviot.

❄️ SNOW EMERGENCY UPDATE ❄️

Hamilton County has been placed under a NEW Level 3 Snow Emergency.

All roads are closed to non-emergency travel. No one should be driving unless it is a personal emergency.

The City of Cheviot Snow Emergency remains in effect.

🚫 Vehicles MUST be removed from the following streets:
• Harrison Avenue
• Glenmore Avenue
• North Bend Road
• Westwood Northern Boulevard
• West side of Marydell Place

Any vehicles parked on these streets must be moved. Vehicles remaining may be cited and towed so snow removal and emergency access can continue.

Please move vehicles off the street and into driveways or off-street locations.

🚨 Community Assistance Requested 🚨

The Cheviot Police Department is investigating several break-ins that occurred this morning between the hours of 03:00 am and 05:30 am in the following general areas:

• Harrison Ave near Davis Ave
• Davis Ave to Woodbine Ave
• Woodbine Ave near Trevor Ave
• Harrison Ave near Washington Ave / Carrie Ave / Marydell area

We are asking residents and business owners in these areas to check home security cameras, doorbell cameras, and vehicle cameras for any footage showing suspicious activity or individuals during the early morning hours.
