Jennifer Gadzala, MS4 Coordinator, had a great Saturday morning teaching on the subject of water quality to the students of the fall class for the Indiana Master Naturalist Program. The class is a hosted and organized through a wonderful partnership between the Coffee Creek Watershed Conservancy and the Indiana Dunes State Park.

We are looking for volunteers for the next brush and tree cleanup at Coffee Creek Park (off Morgan Ave). This project, funded by the Town of Chesterton and a NIPSCO Environmental Action Grant, is for the clearing of trees and brush all around the park to open up the view and enhance recreational use. The Town will provide gloves, clippers and saws, but feel free to bring your own. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers.

We still have spaces open for the Kids Fishing Derby. We will have guides on site available to provide instruction and assist throughout the event. There will be prizes for the biggest fish, games for after the derby, and a hotdog lunch. All fishing equipment and bait will be provided. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.
