Chester Township Fire Rescue provided EMS coverage yesterday evening for the first day of the Geauga County Fair. Although the weather put a damper on things, we were glad to see everyone stay safe.

Our crews will also be out this evening starting at 4:00 PM providing fire coverage. If you are visiting the Geauga County Fair, please stop by the fire station at the fairgrounds, say hi to our crew, and check out our truck. We would love to see you!

Chester Township Fire Rescue is proud to announce that we have been awarded $5,775.00 through the PUCO 2026 Hazardous Materials Training and Planning Grant.

The intended use of these funds, as outlined in our grant application, is to host an upcoming in-house Blue Card Command System training program focused on standardized incident command, fireground decision-making, incident management, and firefighter safety.

The Blue Card course consists of 50 hours of online training followed by a three-day, 24-hour hands-on training component.

We are grateful for this funding opportunity and the continued investment in training and preparedness for our firefighters and community.

🚑 A New Ambulance Is Coming to Chester Township! 🚑

Yesterday, Fire Chief Andrew Nagy and Department Fleet Manager John Billson traveled to Braun Ambulance to complete the final inspection of our new Ambulance 3453!

While at Braun, Chief Nagy and John also had the opportunity to tour the manufacturing facility and see firsthand the time, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that goes into building a modern ambulance from start to finish. It was a great experience to see the process behind the apparatus that will soon be serving our community.

This new ambulance represents a significant investment in the safety and emergency services we provide to our residents, with the ambulance costing around $300,000 and the advanced EMS equipment it carries valued at more than $100,000, including a cardiac monitor, power cot and lift system, LUCAS automated CPR assist device, and other critical equipment that helps our crews provide advanced emergency medical care.

Over the next couple of weeks, 3453 will receive its new graphics and final preparations before being placed into service.

Parkside Dr. & Township Park Exit Closures

Starting on 8/17/2026 the Chester Township Park exit and Parkside Drive will be closed for a water line relocation. These areas will be closed through 8/21/2026.
