🌟Youth Institute Spotlight: Anthony Piano – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Anthony Piano, a driven and community-focused member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Anthony works at Heinen’s, where he serves as a cashier, bagger, and customer service team member, building strong communication skills and learning the value of teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

He joined the Youth Institute to continue developing his leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while connecting with community leaders and exploring different career opportunities. Anthony is excited to grow in confidence and become more prepared for future success and independence.

In his free time, Anthony enjoys organizing and leading events with his friends, showing his natural ability to bring people together and take initiative.

One of his favorite parts of Geauga County is visiting the local parks, where he can relax, clear his mind, and enjoy nature.

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Max Dahlhausen – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Max Dahlhausen, a motivated and service-oriented member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Max works for the City of Chardon as a lifeguard, helping keep the community safe while building responsibility and strong communication skills.

He joined the Youth Institute to meet new people, learn more about his community, and gain real-world, hands-on experience outside the traditional classroom. Max is especially focused on developing his leadership skills and growing into someone who can positively impact those around him.

Outside of work, Max is heavily involved in school and community activities, including Chardon High School Symphonic and Marching Band, National Honor Society, and Boy Scouts of America, where he is currently working on his Eagle Scout project.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, exploring nature, and gaming, making the most of both the outdoors and downtime.

One of Max’s favorite spots in Geauga County is Headwaters Park for kayaking, along with a shoutout to Chardon’s new Chipotle as a local favorite stop.

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Reese Miller – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Reese Miller, a creative and reflective member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Reese joined the Youth Institute to strengthen her leadership and communication skills while also exploring career paths she is especially interested in. She’s excited to gain a broader understanding of the world around her and identify the skills she’ll need as she moves through her final years of high school.

When she’s not focusing on school or leadership development, Reese enjoys drawing, reading, going to the movies, and participating in theatre rehearsals. Her creativity shines through in everything she does.

One of Reese’s favorite places in Geauga County is Chardon Square, where she grew up spending time and continues to enjoy visiting the local shops and community spaces that make it feel like home.

We’re excited to have Reese’s creativity and thoughtful perspective as part of the Youth Institute Class of 2026 and can’t wait to see her journey unfold!

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Carly Heflin – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Carly Heflin, a thoughtful and motivated member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Carly works at Quail Hollow Country Club, where she serves guests and runs food, gaining hands-on experience in hospitality and customer service.

She joined the Youth Institute to explore a variety of career paths and connect with peers who share similar goals. Carly is excited to gain new perspectives from different professions and receive guidance as she begins thinking about where she wants to be in the future.

Outside of work, Carly enjoys spending time with friends and family, and in her downtime she loves painting, running, and listening to music.

One of her favorite parts of Geauga County is the Geauga Park System, where she enjoys countless walks and runs while getting outside and staying active in nature.

We’re so excited to have Carly’s creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm as part of this year’s Youth Institute Class of 2026. This is just the beginning of a great journey for her! 🌟

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Sarah Romask – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Sarah Romask, an energetic and community-minded member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Sarah works at Dairy Queen, where she enjoys making ice cream and other sweet treats for customers.

She was inspired to apply to the Youth Institute after hearing positive experiences from past participants, including her own brother and sister, who completed the program. Sarah sees the Youth Institute as a great opportunity to learn more about Geauga County, explore future career paths, and build meaningful connections within the community.

When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys staying active by playing flag football and soccer, and she loves spending time outdoors fishing.

One of her favorite places in Geauga County is Claridon Woodlands Park, where she enjoys the beautiful scenery, peaceful walking trails, and opportunities to enjoy nature.

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Drake Berschig – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Drake Berschig, an active and goal-oriented member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

During the summer, Drake works in landscaping, helping with yard cleanup and maintenance while developing a strong work ethic and valuable hands-on experience.

Drake joined the Youth Institute to strengthen his leadership skills and explore potential career paths. Through the program, he hopes to gain a better understanding of the fields that interest him and discover opportunities that could help shape his future.

When he’s not working, Drake stays busy as a multi-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, and volleyball for his high school. He also enjoys spending time with his dog, Benji, who is always ready for some fun.

One of Drake’s favorite places in Geauga County is Punderson State Park, where he enjoys going for runs.

We’re looking forward to seeing Drake make new connections, explore career possibilities, and grow as a leader throughout the Youth Institute experience! 🌟

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Kellen Donnelly – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Kellen Donnelly, an engaged student leader and member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Kellen joined the Youth Institute because he is passionate about growing as a leader and finding ways to make a positive impact in his community. Through sports, school activities, and service opportunities, he has already learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and leading by example, and he's excited to continue building on those skills throughout the program.

This summer, Kellen will be working in landscaping, adding to his growing list of experiences while staying active and productive.

When he's not working, Kellen enjoys playing football, baseball, pickleball, and hacky sack, spending time with friends and family, and hanging out with his two dogs. He is also involved in Key Club, Entrepreneurship Club, and Italian Heritage Club, where he enjoys serving others and connecting with fellow students.

One of Kellen’s favorite things about Geauga County is its strong sense of community. Whether through local events, sports, parks, or volunteer opportunities, he appreciates how the county brings people together and creates opportunities to get involved.

💡 Fun Fact: This summer, Kellen will attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar, where he’ll continue developing his leadership skills alongside other student leaders from across the region.

🌟 Youth Institute Spotlight: Gabriella Chenoweth – Class of 2026 🌟

Meet Gabriella Chenoweth, a dedicated and community-minded member of Leadership Geauga’s Youth Institute Class of 2026!

Gabriella works as a hostess at The Hambone in Hambden, where she greets guests, seats customers, and handles phone orders. Through her role, she has developed strong customer service skills and enjoys interacting with people from across the community.

She joined the Youth Institute to further develop her leadership abilities and is looking forward to strengthening both her communication and leadership skills throughout the program.

When she’s not working, Gabriella enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend, volunteering at church, and heading outdoors to fish whenever she gets the chance. She also loves exploring some of Geauga County’s favorite outdoor destinations, including Big Creek Park for camping and fishing and Headwaters Park for kayaking adventures.

And no perfect family outing is complete without a stop at King Kone for a sweet treat!

We’re excited to watch Gabriella build new skills, connections, and experiences as part of the Youth Institute Class of 2026! 🌟

🎓 Congratulations to the Leadership Geauga Signature Adult Program Class of 2026!

After 10 months of learning, exploring, growing, and connecting, the class gathered at Meadow Ridge Events for drinks, dinner, and their graduation ceremony.

Executive Director Meredith Ashkettle reflected on the many organizations, community leaders, and experiences that shaped the class's journey throughout the program. 2026 Emerald Leader and Leadership Geauga alumna Ann Blair shared remarks about staying connected and finding meaningful ways to give back to the community, while Leadership Geauga alumna and DiSC facilitator extraordinaire Lori Gorrell encouraged graduates to continue leveraging their DiSC knowledge and relationships as they grow as leaders.

The evening concluded with each class member receiving their diploma and officially becoming part of the Leadership Geauga alumni community.
