🔥 Fire Station Friday: Update on the New Station 1 in Chester🔥

Work is about to begin on the new Fire Station 1 in Chester! A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on June 17 at 10 a.m. on the site of the new station, which will be located at 4700 West Hundred Road.

As you can see from these photos, crews have already cleared several buildings off the land so construction can begin.

The new station will replace the old Fire Station 1. That 64-year-old facility is located about a half a mile down Route 10.

How sweet is this?! On Wednesday, Kai stopped by Station 1 to thank the firefighters who responded to a call to help him back in May.

Kai and his mom brought over some donuts, a card, and Kai picked out two Hot Wheels to give to the firefighters ❤🚗

Kai's mom says it was just a small way to let the firefighters know much they appreciate their kindness, professionalism, and all they do for the community.

Thank you Kai and family!! Your visit helped make our firefighters' day!

Watch this helmet camera video! It shows firefighters on Engine 220 and Engine 209 battling a van fire on the Powhite Parkway, near the Courthouse Road exit on Tuesday afternoon.

The driver, who was not hurt, was able to get oxygen and acetylene tanks out of the back of the van before firefighters arrived. As you can see, it also sparked a small brush fire, which firefighters were able to quickly take care of.

A-shift firefighters at Station 24 attracted a crowd while playing pickleball together as a shift last night. Several members of the church next door, including a group of children, came over to watch.

The kids asked to play too… and so firefighters spent a half an hour playing pickleball with them.

It looks like everyone had a blast! We love to see our firefighters having fun with some of the smallest citizens in the community they serve 😊
