The Heritage Foundation of Chesterfield is inviting the public to join them in celebrating the Central Park sculpture, Maura, and her perfectly placed shadow on Friday, June 26th at 9:00 a.m. at Central Park's East Pavilion.

Each year, on June 26th at 10:00 AM CST, Maura’s shadow slowly moves into position for perfect alignment with her granite base, creating unique artistic value for Chesterfield’s version of Maura. The sculpture’s shadow base is an amazing demonstration of nature and art. The sculptor and Chesterfield local, Don Wiegand will share insights into creating the historic Maura Sculpture.

As we celebrate the City of Chesterfield's 38th birthday, we're taking a look back at the very first swearing-in ceremony of Chesterfield's first mayor, Freddie Steinbach, held inside the now-demolished Chesterfield Mall.
This historic event marked the beginning of Chesterfield's journey as a city and served as a powerful display of local democracy in action, as residents came together to shape the future of their community.

On this day in 1988, the City of Chesterfield passed its very first ordinance, transforming an unincorporated area of west St. Louis County into the City of Chesterfield. It was the first official step in the City's history and the beginning of the community we know today. Today, we have passed 3,378 ordinances and counting!

A friendly reminder from our parks team: please don’t feed the geese.

When geese become dependent on people for food, they can lose natural behaviors, gather in larger numbers, and leave behind a mess that impacts trails, playgrounds, and waterways. Feeding wildlife also encourages aggressive behavior toward park guests.

Help us keep our parks clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone by leaving the snacks at home.
