SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 9-3-26 Officer Trombley responded to the above address for a fight. Upon arrival he was informed that the accused had an active warrant out of Chittenden County. With assistance from Springfield Police Officers, Crawford was found fleeing the area. After a foot chase he was apprehended. He was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility. Crawford is facing other charges from this incident.

If someone calls saying they are from an agency, let them know you will be calling the office directly. Only use numbers verified on an official websites. If they are using scare tactics and giving you short deadlines, it is most likely a scam.
They will try and convince you they are legitimate. A LOT of information is accessible online: your number, former address, even associated family members. Remember, if it sounds off - it probably is.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On August 15, 2026, Ofc. Battista responded to Vermont Route 103 North in Chester for a reported altercation between two parties. The Accused was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. Accused was issued a Juvenile Citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court-Family Division to answer the charges.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On the above date and time, a motor vehicle stop was initiated in reference to an incident that occurred earlier in the day. Upon contact with the operator, Matthew Moses, it was learned that his privilege to operate a motor vehicle was under criminal suspension. Moses also had an active arrest warrant. Moses was taken into custody and transported to the Chester Police Department for processing then to Southern State Correctional Facility for holding.

UPDATE: Found and home!

LOST DOG: Female Springer Spaniel got away from her yard in Athens, VT. Yes we know it’s not Chester but we are always willing to help. She has a bright orange harness on and was last seen off Walker Rd. In Athens, VT in the last 24 hrs. If found contact 609-457-2098 or you are welcome to call our PD number at 802-875-2035. Let’s see if we can get her back to her owners soon!

CHARGES: In-State Warrant

ACCUSED: Nicholas M Lynch

AGE: 37

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Chester, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 8-7-26 Officer Trombley received information that Nicholas M Lynch had an active In-State Arrest Warrant. Officer Trombley was able to locate Lynch at his residence. Lynch was taken into custody without incident and was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility. Lynch was cited to appear in Windham County Court on 8-10-26.

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: West Townshend, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On the above date and time, Officer Trombley noticed a vehicle pulled over on VT RT 11. Officer Trombley made contact with the operator, who was known to him as Cody Kane. Kane is known to be required to have an Ignition Interlock Device installed in any vehicle he is to operate. Officer Trombley noticed that there was no such device installed. Kane was cited to Windsor County Court for the above offense.
