đź’§ Fort Smith Requests Voluntary Water Conservation Measures
With rising temperatures and little rainfall, irrigation use and overall water demand are increasing across the area. To protect our water supply and ensure enough water remains available for everyone, the City of Fort Smith is asking customers to conserve water voluntarily.
Please follow these measures:
• Even-numbered addresses: Water lawns, shrubs, plants, trees, and gardens, or fill swimming pools, only on even-numbered days of the month.
• Odd-numbered addresses: Water lawns, shrubs, plants, trees and gardens, or fill swimming pools, only on odd-numbered days of the month.
• Avoid watering between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
These voluntary conservation measures apply to customers served by water systems and municipalities that receive water from Fort Smith, including Fort Smith, Barling, Chester, Lavaca, Mountainburg, Cedarville Water Users, Concord Water, Winslow Water Users, Highway 71 Water Users, Arkoma, Rural Water District 7, Van Buren, Franklin-Sebastian Water Users, and Central City.
While these measures are voluntary, following them will help protect our region’s water supply and reduce the need for mandatory conservation measures.
