Black River Middle School students attending and learning from a September 11th exhibit in the BRMS library. The exhibit consists of primary source documents that pertain to the events of September 11th. Additionally, an interactive video within the exhibit provides students with a current view of One World Trade Center. Throughout the week classes across all grade levels will get to experience the exhibit.

On Wednesday, August 5 the Chester Board of Education and Administrative Team took part in their annual Board Retreat to set district/board goals for the 2026-2027 School Year. Thank you to educational consultant Kathleen Helewa for leading the conversation.

All school based social media accounts will go into dormant mode. Content posted prior to July 1, 2026, on Dickerson, Bragg and BRMS social media feeds will still be accessible.

Students who reside in the Seventh Congressional District were invited to participate in an essay contest to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The winning essays will be framed and hung in Seventh Congressional District and DC offices and will be published on the Seventh Congressional District website. Congratulations to 5th Grader Clara Martin who won this essay contest and to 5th Graders Calvin Barish and Ava Colicchio who each received an honorable mention. We are so proud of our student's accomplishments! Special shout-out to Mrs. O'Melia for overseeing this initiative.

BRMS 8th Graders Mariana Chacon and Isaiah desBordes did an outstanding job of signing America the Beautiful during Chester's 250th Celebration this past weekend.
