On April 8th, a devastating fire tore through a family’s home, destroying all their belongings and tragically taking the lives of three generations of women.
They were mothers, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, wives, nieces, friends, and neighbors.
For the family they left behind, their loss is beyond heartbreaking.
Please pray for them and consider donating to assist them through this most difficult time as they lay their family members to rest and begin to rebuild.

Today, our on-duty crews teamed up with the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania to visit homes in the southwest area of the city. Crews Installed free smoke detectors and shared simple tips to help keep our community safe. This is all part of the Red Cross’s “Sound the Alarm” program.

We’re proud to work together to protect our neighbors—because a working smoke alarm can make all the difference.

If you or someone you know still needs a smoke alarm, you can request one here:

The officers and members of the Chester Bureau of Fire would like to congratulate retired Fire Commission James Johnson. Last night, surrounded by dozens of fire chiefs from throughout the Commonwealth, Commissioner Johnson was awarded the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chief’s Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, making him one of only three people to achieve such an accomplishment. Not only did Commissioner Johnson serve the residents of the City of Chester for over 3 decades, he was also instrumental in the growth of the PA Career Fire Chiefs Association. Congratulates Commissioner Johnson.
