Starting today and continuing through the holiday weekend, officers from the Chester, Mt. Olive, Netcong, Roxbury, Washington Township, Hackettstown, and Stanhope Police Departments, along with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, will be conducting targeted traffic enforcement details concentrating on US-206 and US-46.

These enforcement efforts will focus on curbing aggressive driving, speeding, and impaired driving in an effort to enhance roadway safety for all motorists traveling throughout the region during the busy holiday weekend.

Motorists are reminded to obey posted speed limits, avoid distracted driving, and never operate a vehicle while impaired. We thank you for driving safely and responsibly during this holiday weekend and everyday!

During National Police Week 2026, the Chester Police Department proudly honors the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women of law enforcement who serve our communities each and every day. This week serves as a solemn reminder of those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while also recognizing the continued commitment of those who wear the badge with honor, integrity, and professionalism.

We also extend our support and appreciation to all riders participating in the 2026 Police Unity Tour as they travel to Washington, D.C. to honor our nation’s fallen heroes and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten. Their dedication and commitment embody the true spirit of law enforcement brotherhood and remembrance.
