10/5/2026 - The Water Department will be working on Louisiana Avenue between the intersections of Utah and Georgia today. This section of the road will be closed to allow for work to continue safely. The road is expected to be open by the end of the day. Thank you

9/24/26: The boat dock area of Chester City Park will be closed to the public on Thursday 9/24/2026 beginning at 11:30 AM. Boat dock will reopen to the public on Friday. Thank you

9/3/2026 - You may have noticed a different format for your water bill this month. Although the look of the bill is different, the data on it is still correct. This was not intentional and done by mistake by the printing company we use to send out the bills. They have assured us the regular format will return next month. Thank you

8/31/2026 - Announcements for this week:

* September's City Council Meeting will be moved to Tuesday, September 1st due to Labor Day

*EDIT* City Park's boat dock area will be closed to the public Wednesday, 9/2 starting at 11 AM.

* Bids for the municipal building's handicap ramp project are due today, 8/31, by end of business.

* City Offices will be closed next Monday for Labor Day (9/7)

8/25/2026 - 2:25 PM - The precautionary boil order from yesterday has been lifted. Thank you

8/24/2026 - 3:05 PM - The water department will be turning on the water to the main in about 10-15 minutes. Water will slowly be restored. A Boil Order is now in effect. If you experience discolored water please run cold water until it dissipates. Sorry for the inconvenience.

8/24/2026 11:00 AM - Emergency water break on Chester's main line. Water service in town will be shut off immediately to make the urgent repair. A boil order will follow. Lawrenceville area should not be effected. We will update when we have news. We're expecting to be down for a few hours. Water crew is on site and is preparing the repair.

8/16/2026: We are aware of a water break on Third Alley. We have dispatched a crew to respond. We should be able to isolate the break to that area. Everyone else should still maintain service.
