HAD A LOVELY VISIT with the church group, OWLEs (Older Wiser Lutherans and Episcopalians) on 9/11/26. They toured the Station, Dining Car, Children's Boxcar and Wooden Caboose. Also, heard the tale of the World's First Mountain Railroad, The Western RR, built right here through Chester. They were very pleased to have come.

BLACKOUT BLOWOUT While this looks like one of many happy gatherings at Chester Station and it is, you might notice the lights are off. This entire 5 hr. event was held during an eight hour power outage. The large windows served their intended purpose and open doors made it very comfortable. Some folks even forgot it was out, as they 'powered' through and a fun time was had by all.

THREE BIG, BEAUTIFUL SLABS OF GRANITE were donated by Ed Williams of Williams Stone Co., Otis, MA. They will support the new exit stairway to the former Bernie's dining car at Chester Station. Thanks so much! 9/2/26.

SYDNEY BIRNIE, Great Great Granddaughter of Alexander Birnie, subcontractor who built 27 bridges, culverts and walls along the mountain section of the Western Railroad (including the Keystone Arches) in 1840, got to see her ancestor's handiwork on a hike along the KAB Trail on 9/1/26. She's seen here with her husband, Hugh Manley in front of the kiosk honoring Alexander along the trail.
