๐Ÿ”ฅ TWO CALLS THIS AFTERNOON ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Chester VFD was dispatched to a woods fire this afternoon. Due to the dry conditions, we requested mutual aid from Woodville VFD. The Texas A&M Forest Service was also called in to assist.

A huge thank you to Woodville VFD and the Texas A&M Forest Service for the help! We always appreciate our neighboring departments and agencies working alongside us when we need the extra hands.

Just as crews were wrapping up the woods fire, a second call came in for a vehicle fire. Crews cleared the first scene and responded to the next call.

Itโ€™s been a busy afternoon, but Chester VFD is back at the station, equipment is ready, and weโ€™re prepared for the next call.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who gave their time today and to everyone who helped keep our crews safe!

๐Ÿš’ Mutual Aid Response ๐Ÿš’

Earlier today, Chester Volunteer Fire Department responded on a mutual aid request from Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department for a fully involved vehicle fire on Highway 62, between US 287 and Camden Mill.

Despite the quick response from firefighters, the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames upon arrival and was declared a total loss.

We appreciate the strong teamwork between all responding agencies and are thankful there were no reported injuries.

As always, if you see emergency vehicles on the roadway, please slow down, move over when possible, and help keep our first responders safe
