The Town of Cheshire will host a free Bulky Waste, Electronics and Mattress Recycling Event on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from
9 AM – 1 PM at 1304 Waterbury Road (the old transfer station). Also accepted on this day: grass clipping, leaves, branches & brush with size limitations.

This event is open to Cheshire residents only; proof of residency is required.

These events are held as published on the Towns website, usually on the second Saturday. The date may change due to religious holidays, weather conditions, emergencies, or unforeseen events. Always check the Town website www.cheshirect.gov.

This Friday, we’re feeling good about filling up a truck for the Cheshire Food Pantry at tonight’s Bartlem Beats concert happening at 7PM at Bartlem Park. All attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item (see list below for top needed donation items). To date, 686 pounds of non-perishable items have been collected for the Cheshire Food Pantry to distribute to our community members in need. We’re excited to see that number grow after tonight’s concert featuring the Orchard Hill Band and the last concert of the series on September 18th featuring Women of Rock. Thank you to the attendees who donated items and to the staff from Cheshire’s Department of Public Works and Cheshire Parks & Recreation Department for your hard work!

We are excited to announce that Cheshire residents now have access to Kanopy! Kanopy is a streaming service that offers thousands of high-quality films, TV shows, documentaries, and children's programs.

Cardholders get 25 tickets per month, with most items costing 2-4 tickets. You can access Kanopy through the web or via their app. A link is available on our homepage and our downloads page.
