Last Thursday, JFCS was proud to host our fourth annual Holocaust Survivor Day Celebration in Cherry Hill - a morning filled with love, joy, and connection. We began with meaningful remarks from Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey CEO Jen Weiss, JFCS Associate Executive Director Jill Hammel, Cherry Hill Township Mayor Dave Fleisher, and a beautiful D’var Torah from Rabbi Davide Englander of Congregation Beth El Voorhees.
Guests enjoyed a delicious catered lunch, sweet treats from Magical Sweet Shop, and the joy of singing and dancing—especially a spirited hora led by Jeff Dershin. Most importantly, it was a day to honor our beloved Survivors—each one so deeply cherished. It is truly a blessing to know them and to be part of their lives.
Each Survivor went home with a special gift, a small token of our deep gratitude and love.
Thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers for creating such a meaningful and festive celebration. The happiness in the room said it all.
We are also deeply grateful to the generous sponsors who made this event possible: Seed the Dream Foundation, Kavod SHEF, Claims Conference (Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany), Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. (JCF) of Southern New Jersey, Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, Jewish Federations of North America Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care, Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation, and Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey.
