🚓 National Women in Law Enforcement Day 👮‍♀️

Today, we recognize the women who have helped shape the Cherry Hill Police Department and those who continue that legacy through their service today.

Throughout our department’s history, women have served our community, taken on leadership roles, broken barriers, and helped strengthen the profession for those who followed. Today, women serve throughout the Cherry Hill Police Department, bringing their experience, leadership, and commitment to the many responsibilities of modern policing.

A strong police department reflects the community it serves. The different experiences and perspectives our officers bring to the profession help us build relationships, solve problems, and provide effective public safety services to our community.

On National Women in Law Enforcement Day, we thank the women of the Cherry Hill Police Department, past and present, for their professionalism, leadership, and dedication to service. We are proud of their contributions to our department and the Cherry Hill community.

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11, Jefferson Health held a Memorial Stair Climb at the Cherry Hill Hospital.

Mayor Fleisher, along with members of the Cherry Hill High School West AFJROTC and the Cherry Hill Fire and Police Departments, joined Jefferson Health-East President, Aaron Chang, and leadership from Jefferson Health to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, as well as the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders and military members that followed.

Participants climbed in remembrance of those who lost their lives and in tribute to the courage, service, and selflessness demonstrated in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

25 years later, we continue to honor their memory and ensue that the stories of September 11- and the spirit of unity that followed- are never forgotten.

Today, Cherry Hill joins communities across the nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honoring the first responders and everyday citizens whose courage and selflessness were displayed in the face of tragedy. Mayor Dave Fleisher and Chief Wade Houlihan offered remarks, joined by members of Township Council, Assemblywoman Melinda Kane, and Camden County Clerk Pamela Lampitt, who were there to show their respect.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember those we lost and carry their memory with us.

Cherry Hill Township’s Branching Out Tree Initiative is making Cherry Hill greener.
Did you know that in the spring of 2026, 169 native trees were planted on Township property, and 200 more native trees were distributed to residents to plant themselves?

“Branching Out” is funded through the Township’s innovative Tree Ordinance and Tree Fund, which require contractors and developers to either replace any tree they remove or contribute to the tree fund. Thanks to The Department of Public Works (DPW) and volunteers with the Cherry Hill Environmental Board, hundreds of trees have been planted since the initiative began.

Stay tuned for details about volunteer opportunities for our fall planting.
