Recently, AWA welcomed Greta into our care after she and another German Shepherd named Renly were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Pennsylvania.
When Greta arrived, she was severely under-socialized, frightened by everyday sounds, painfully thin, and covered in filth. Even simple things like going outside or interacting with people were unfamiliar and overwhelming. Since then, our team has been working patiently with her every single day. Slowly but surely, Greta is beginning to discover what it means to feel safe, cared for, and loved. She’s learning how to play, trust, and simply be a dog for perhaps the very first time in her life. She is now available for adoption.
Renly’s case was a little more severe and he is getting more intensive treatments and physical therapy which he is responding to nicely.
