Today, Acting Chief Jeffrey Jenison had the privilege of participating in the opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics Rhode Island Summer Games by carrying the Flame of Hope into the event.

It was a tremendous honor to be part of such a meaningful tradition and to help celebrate the incredible athletes who have worked so hard to reach this moment. The dedication, determination, and sportsmanship displayed by Special Olympics athletes continue to inspire us all.

We wish all of the competitors the very best of luck this weekend and congratulate them on their outstanding achievements.

A huge thank you to the residents who acted quickly today when a tree came down on Route 44. Several community members jumped right in to help cut and clear the tree, allowing the roadway to be reopened safely and quickly. 🌳

Thank you to everyone who lent a hand and helped keep our town moving safely! 💪🏻
