To the residents of The Chenoa Fire District,

Effective immediately the Chenoa Fire District is placing the City of Chenoa and its rural coverage area into a burn ban until further notice. With the long and severe dry conditions and no end in sight we feel its best to do so.

Currently we have been making our best effort to keep the football field and the lane where the fireworks are lit in a suitable condition to carry on with the 4th Fireworks display and we so far feel that it can occur safely.

However we ask that the use of personal fireworks be discouraged until this drought has passed. We know that it is the last thing that this town wants to hear but sadly the fact is that this year is far more dangerous than typical. So please save your fireworks until the burn ban has lifted and we will be more than happy to help keep the Chenoa fireworks tradition alive.

The Chenoa Firefighters and their families will once again be having the opportunity for the children of the Chenoa area to join us at the station on December 10th from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. to shop for a gift for their moms and dads.
Any child from 3 to 12 years old will be escorted into our shopping area by a fireman or police officer to be able to pick out a gift for their moms and dads. The items will be wrapped before rejoining their parents so they can have a surprise gift from the kids on Christmas Morning.
There will be no charge to the child for joining us but any donations received are more than welcome to help us continue this event next year.

Chenoa Fire Dept. is honored to be hosting Dean Troutman this evening. A fireman will be here at the station from 5 pm to 8 pm to accept any donations from the community to help Dean raise money for St. Judes.

Dean is 90 years old and will be walking 3600 miles to raise money for this amazing charity!

We hope we can have the entire community show their support for this amazing man.
