The Pride Center is a welcoming and affirming student-centered space located on the campus of EWU.

The Pride Center provides support and advocacy, empowers student voices, connects community members to on-campus and local resources, creates and facilitates inspiring programs and events, and delivers educational trainings and workshops to members of the EWU community. Guided by a deep understanding of the need for intersectional social justice frameworks, the Pride Center is committed to strong

alliances and partnerships with diverse cultural, ethnic, political, spiritual, and arts communities at EWU and beyond.

Happy Pride Month from the EWU Pride Center! We’re so excited to see some of you at Spokane Pride this year on June 10th!

If you’d like to march with us we’ll be meeting at the big red wagon in Riverfront Park at 11am, but you can always check our story for updates!

We’re doing book club y’all! Pop by the Pride Center this week to pick up your copy of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz! We’ll be meeting next Tuesday at noon to talk about the reading guide, and a little background on the book and author. Hope to see you there!

Please note that we have a limited number of copies, but will do our best to make sure everyone gets to read along!

Happy Thursday! In honor of Women's History Month, we highlighted important q***r women in history and today is our last highlight of the month. Today we are highlighting Brenda Howard. Howard is widely considered to be the person who came up with the idea for our modern day celebration of pride! She also worked tirelessly to raise awareness and acceptance of bisexuality.

Happy Tuesday! In honor of Women's History Month, we will highlight important q***r women in history every Tuesday and Thursday. Today we are highlighting Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin. Tammy Baldwin was the first openly gay person to be elected to both chambers of Congress. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 1993 and the Senate in 2013.

Doctor Singh is an activist and one of the preeminent leaders of the asexual movement in India. In 2019, she was chosen to be one of BBC’s 100 women of the year.

Cox made her debut in Orange Is the New Black and later one an Emmy making her the first openly trans person to be awarded this award.

Today we are highlighting someone who revolutionized the music industry, Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston never disclosed her bisexuality to the public, but her partner Robyn Crawford and her ex-husband confirmed her bisexuality after she died.

We are kicking the month off strong by highlighting a q***r woman in STEM, Sally Ride. Even though Sally Ride wasn’t an out le***an woman in her lifetime, she is credited to be the first gay woman at NASA.
