Cheney Fire Rescue and City of Cheney Maintenance department will begin flushing hydrants throughout Cheney. You may notice lower water pressure and temporary slight discoloration of your water. If you experience this, please run your water for a little bit and it should clear up.

The project will begin June 9th and continue for the next several weeks.

THE SEARCH IS ON!!!! 🦥

Otis, the sloth, has ventured out of the library & will be traveling around Cheney this week.

Stop by the library for a tracking sheet and write down his location each day. Then return the tracking sheet by Monday, June 16th for a chance to bring Otis home with you!!

Cheney and Sedgwick County fire and EMS crews are working a serious house fire near Main and Fifth Ave. Main Street is closed off. Please stay clear of the area.

Waste Connections will make one pass through the city.

The City's Brush Site is open for Cheney residents only! Due to the storm last night, there are many trees down throughout town. City crews are working to clear branches that are in the street. Residents are encouraged to haul their limbs to the brush site at 3361 S 359th St; however, if you are unable to haul your limbs to the brush site, you can pile your branches next to the curb (not in the street) and the maintenance department will pick them up Wednesday morning (May 21st). Branches piled at the curb, need to be cut into manageable pieces that are small enough for one person to handle. Residents living outside the city, can purchase an annual brush site permit for $25 at City Hall, to utilize the site. Please call city hall at 542-3622, if you have any questions.
