A big step forward for High Street in Lynn!

Today, the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced its 2026 Winter Rental Round awards, supporting 29 projects and 2,547 new homes across Massachusetts.

Among them is the Latino Support Network–TND High Street project, creating 107 affordable homes in Lynn.

TND Executive Director Rafael Mares and High Street Project Manager Kayra Lopez joined Deputy Secretary Jennifer Maddox of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities for today’s announcement in Newburyport.

We’re grateful for this important investment and for the many partners helping move High Street forward.

It was a pleasure to welcome Massachusetts Secretary of Housing Juana Matias to 170 Cottage Street alongside Chelsea City Manager Fidel Maltez and state and city leaders.

Seeing our newest 66-home affordable housing community through the eyes of residents like Magda is a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

Rain couldn’t stop this community.

The weather may have cut our celebration short, but it couldn’t dampen the spirit of the Bosson Block Party.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and to the incredible volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and community partners who made the day possible. Seeing neighbors connect, children play, and our community come together is what this event is all about.

We’re already looking forward to next year. What was your favorite part of the day?

As we look back on a busy few weeks, we’re celebrating two major affordable housing milestones.

In Chelsea, we welcomed residents to 170 Cottage Street, where 66 families are moving into new affordable homes. The development includes 16 homes for families who have experienced homelessness and is located just steps from the Eastern Avenue Silver Line Station and the Chelsea Greenway. The property also features TND’s largest community and open space to date.

We also celebrated the completion of 272 Cross Street in Malden, where the final affordable home has been sold. Five families now have the opportunity to build stability and wealth through homeownership in a neighborhood close to schools, transit, parks, and other amenities.

Every home represents more than a building. It represents stability, opportunity, and a stronger community. We’re grateful to our partners, supporters, and dedicated staff who helped make these milestones possible.

Today we celebrated an important milestone: the acquisition of the Forbes site.

Together with Mass Audubon and GreenRoots, Inc., we’re proud to be part of a partnership committed to creating new opportunities for Chelsea’s waterfront through affordable homes, accessible open space, advancing environmental justice, and long-term environmental stewardship. The shared vision also includes a future nature center and community space with office space for GreenRoots to support its programming and community engagement.

This is the beginning of a long journey, and we’re excited to work alongside the community as the vision takes shape.
