Sugarloaf Lake campground is closed for the season but here are some memories from our Harvest Festival Oct 10, 2025. Below are the top three site decoration winners, host site volunteers helping with cider and donuts, and a ranger with our skeleton driver! Come out next fall for Sugarloaf Lake Harvest Fest 2026!

This year's Harvest Festival schedule is below! Reminder: Due to occupancy limits, Harvest Festival activities are limited to registered campers at Sugarloaf Lake campground.

Waterloo Recreation Area now has an ADA hunting blind available for use by the public!

The blind will be available by reservation for those with qualifying disabilities for the Liberty Hunt, opening day of archery season, and opening day of firearm season. All other days will be first come, first served!

This ADA hunting blind was made possible by Michigan Operation Freedom Outdoors and UAW Ford Rawsonville with the build and donation of the blind.

Access to the blind is located near the intersection of Seymour and Races Roads. To make a reservation, please call the park at (734) 475-8307.

The Portage Lake fishing pier is open!

It's been more than a decade since we last had a fishing pier at Portage Lake, and we are so thankful to have one again. Happy fishing all!

The Portage Lake fishing pier is in the water!

The Portage Lake boat launch will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, June 18th at 8 AM. Thank you for your patience with this closure. Please stay away from the fishing pier as it will still be under construction for a few more weeks.

The new fishing pier arrived at Portage Lake today! This is one step in the process and we ask for your patience as work continues. We still have several steps and weeks worth of work to get it all ready for you!

BE ADVISED: The Portage Lake boat launch will be closed Monday, June 16th. The new fishing pier is being delivered and the launch area will be blocked.
