We are two weeks in to the Summer Reading Program, and our participants are racking up the accomplishments! We have over 1,200 patrons registered across all the SRP challenges. Listeners and Adults have read 3,549 books so far, and Readers and Teens have read for 3,494 hours combined. 117 patrons have already completed their challenge!

Way to go! Keep reading and logging to get those prize slips! 📚🦖📚🦕📚

Don't forget, this week's Wild Wednesday is actually TODAY! Yes, we know it's Tuesday 😜 Mad Science of Detroit will be here at 2pm for Dinosaur Day, with tons of hands-on experiments showcasing dino science! This program is best for kids ages 6 and up.

Have you checked out the awesome Summer Reading Program prizes yet? One of the kids prizes is a dinosaur themed prize pack, complete with a 3D printed velociraptor skull. This timelapse video shows how it came together - Librarian Amelia tells us the skull took 24 hours of continuous printing to complete! Meet up with Mobee at TimberTown on Monday! Our first Mobee Monday at the Park is coming up on June 15, and we'll be at TimberTown from 9:30-10:15am. Invite a friend to play, then stop by Mobee to check out a book and sign up for the Summer Reading Program. Kids can even earn extra drawing slips for the Summer Reading Grand Prizes! CDL's All American Picnic and Time Capsule Opening is only two weeks away! Join us June 26 from 5-7pm for music, games, crafts, and fun. Bonus: enter your child to win one of our excellent 1970s themed prizes! Julie Albright, American Girl's historical doll from 1974 (plus the first book in her series), or an awesome LEGO set that creates a vintage, 1970s style radio that actually works! The prize drawing entry bins will be available during the picnic and will be announced the following Monday. One entry per child per prize. Thanks to the Friends of the Chelsea District Library for the financial support that made these prizes possible.

Thanks to our preschool friends for visiting for a special Summer Reading Storytime and book checkout. You all did a fantastic job of using walking feet and quiet voices getting those skills ready for kindergarten next fall! Plus, we had some dinosaur fun together.😊🦕🦖
